And I managed to stay a few miles ahead of the storms on the way home!
This week is quiet in the 'meetings' department, which should give us all a chance to rest up before Saturday morning's car wash.
Pembroke Center (the Hatch Building) at 9:00. So what if your car doesn't need washing--it's for a good cause!
All proceeds are going to support the mission trip to Camp Mechuwana. So come one, come all!
This coming Sunday we'll be recognizing all the people who make our Sunday school ministry happen--
teachers, nursery workers, administrators, and, of course, students!
And we'll have a small token of recognition for all our graduates too.
It's the 3rd Sunday after Pentecost, and the readings are:
1 Kings 21:1-21a
Psalm 5:1-8
Galatians 2:15-21
Luke 7:36 - 8:3
If anyone has a Scout manual that I can borrow for the children's sermon, I'd appreciate it. Just let me know.
And I hear there's a party on Sunday afternoon. I'm looking forward to it!
Finally, a prayer from Three Simple Rules. Remember this one?
Loving Teacher, come and make your home in our hearts this day.
Dwell within us all day long and save us from error or foolish ways.
Teach us today to do no harm, to do good,
and assist us so that we may stay in loving relationship with you and our neighbor.
Help us today to be an answer to another's prayer
so that we may be one of your signs of hope in the world you love. Amen.
In Christ's service,
Pastor Barbara
